If 'jugar' was a regular verb, we'd say 'jugo', but we don't - we say 'juego'. Jugar is a stem-changing verb, as are querer (to want) and poder (to be able to), verbs that you met on the last page.
Can you spot a pattern? Try to conjugate the verbs 'volver' (to return), 'perder' (to lose) . Then watch the videos and do some work on stem-changing verbs. ![]() ![]() There is another small group of irregular verbs in the present tense. At the weekend I generally go out with my family, but sometimes I go to the shopping mall or I watch a film with my friends if they can go out too. We never go out too late on Saturday because we do a lot of activities on Sunday. I always go swimming on Sunday morning. I get up at 6 o'clock and I go to the pool with my friend Ana. After that, we go to the cafe to have breakfast. I have to do my homework in the morning because I think that I work better before lunch. On Sunday I go out to lunch with my parents. My sister doesn't come but I like to eat with my family - I think that it is important. In the afternoon I play football. The matches normally start at 5 o'clock and finish at 7 o'clock. I come home at around 8 o'clock and I after a light dinner I watch TV a little. I go to be early because I have to go to school the next day. |
