This video introduces the idea of CONJUGATING verbs in the present tense, and concentrates on the most common type of verb in French - ER verbs.
Do the first three pages only - these are to practise the REGULAR ER, IR, RE verb endings.
Conjuguemos is a verb trainer. It means 'Let's conjugate' in Spanish - although it's for French too. Think of it like going to the gym! Do a little every day. For now you are just focussing on the first 4 parts - regular verbs in the present tense.
80 verbs which follow the regular pattern - so you see that if you learn the verb endings, you can say a whole lot of things now!!
Keep coming back to these regular verb conjugations and the list of regular verbs as they are really important. Also, go back to être and avoir too - those are VITAL.
Ask your teacher for a session on the PRESENT tense just to get you going.
Just concentrate on practising how to conjugate the ER verbs for now.
In English there are TWO present tenses:
I play tennis every day
I am playing tennis at the moment
In French there is only ONE present tense: Je joue = I play Je joue = I am playing
JE SUIS JOUER is WRONG - it means 'I am to play'
Now you know how to conjugate ER verbs you can create sentences using all of these verbs:
Think of all the crazy sentences you can make by putting together what you have learnt - (a) how to conjugate ER verbs, (b) all the infinitives of common regular verbs (above) and (c) all the words you have learnt in previous lessons and (d) a LITTLE use of the dictionary (word reference - NOT Google translate).
Look how the endings are different for ER, IR and RE verbs:
Make a presentation to talk about what you like to do at the weekend or during the holidays. Talk about what other people do as well - this will ensure that you get to use different conjugations, not just 'je'. Just use REGULAR verbs for now (verbs that follow the patterns) - the easiest way is to pick from the 80 that you have learnt on quizlet. If you are finding it easy try putting 'ne......pas' AROUND THE VERB to say what you DON'T do.
